Vongai Mpofu

Dr Vongai Mpofu is currently an Acting Director Quality Assurance at Bindura University of Science Education. She is a seasoned educationist, with close to 35 years in science teacher education. Dr Mpofu is a senior lecturer and holds a PhD in Science education with a particular focus on classroom science and indigenous knowledge. Thematically, her research intersects STEM/STEAM and indigenous knowledge Systems in science education. She is also involved in gender inclusive research and innovation, and the development of indigenous research methodologies and applications. Dr Mpofu has vast experience in research collaboration, grant application and leadership. She is well acquitted with the analysis of   qualitative data with Nvivo and has reviewed proposals for the African Research Initiative for Scientific Excellence (ARISE) as well as  facilitated in various research and innovation knowledge sharing international platforms. She is a research and innovation officer in the Zimbabwe Chapter of the Southern African Association for Research in Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education (SAARMSTE).
